Beechgrove Doggy Wood - Planted by IndiWoods near Banbridge, Co Down - A Case Study - Native Woodland Planting.
This amazing woodland was planted in 2022 on the outskirts of Banbridge, County Down. It comprises 12 ha of agricultural land, which was planted as a native woodland to extend and enhance the hugely successful Doggy Fun Park next door.
The woodland was planted on Drumlin land, creating natural dips and hollows, a riverside walk and envious views from the top of the hill.
With 22,000 native trees planted, this is definitely one to watch, with tremendous growth in its first year and cut paths making the woodland feel welcoming and attractive. This is a perfect example of rural diversification, with the new woodland being an asset to their existing business.
Funded through Forest Expansion scheme, with an annual income for 10 years, in addition to single farm payment where existing and also eligible for Carbon Credits.
