Small Woodland, Big Dreams: Niall’s Journey to Create a Native Irish Woodland

This must be one of the smallest Small Woodland Grant Schemes we have ever been involved with.  Sitting at a whopping 0.26 ha, the landowner, Niall, bought the land to create his very own native woodland. As a frequent flyer, he wanted to give back, create a legacy for himself and his family, and enjoy the biodiversity and wildlife that a woodland will bring.  The only drawback was that the land is in Fermanagh, and with it came the potential for a deer problem.

IndiWoods advised and supplied Niall with the native Irish trees he needed, along with deer guards and stakes to protect them. Niall worked really hard, planting around 400 trees and did a fantastic job.
